I went to the store yesterday and all around – in addition to the Halloween decorations – were shelves and shelves of Thanksgiving decorations.

It brought to mind how Thanksgiving has always been one of my most favorite holidays, because to me it means gathering with family, and good food, and giving thanks for the blessings in my life.

I know that when we are grieving, there may be days when it is hard to find something to be grateful for. But I promise you, if you look, there is always something – and once you find one thing, you will begin to see more.

Yesterday we at Hope for Widows had the opportunity to, in a very small way, give thanks to two wonderful people who have been extremely generous and helped us in a way we never could have helped ourselves.

Steve and Amber Sawaya of Sawaya Consulting are the ones who created the beautiful Hope for Widows website. They saw our vision of helping women, and wanted to join in that effort, and what they’ve done is breathtaking. We want to acknowledge their gift, and to thank them for their goodness. It’s rare to find people who are willing to give so much knowing they will receive so little in return.

Sometimes the very best way of giving thanks is to accept and use the gift that is offered. So we hope you will look around the site, take advantage of all it offers you, and share it with all others who might benefit from it. It is our hope that it will grow and expand and become a source of comfort and help to millions of women – and provide just what our name implies – Hope for Widows.

Thanks, Steve and Amber!
