Here’s a thought to ponder for today by Lemony Snicket.
One wanders through life as if wandering through a field in the dark of night, wearing a blindfold and very heavy shoes, with a poisonous toad waiting patiently beneath a clump of weeds, knowing full well that eventually you will step on him.
In other words, from the moment we are born, we start the march towards our inevitable end.
Consequently, it’s up to each of us to wisely spend the blink of an eye we are given to roam this planet. Instead of groping in the (sometimes self-imposed) dark, choose to turn on the light in your life by discarding drama, loving your fellow man, living in gratitude, and enjoying each moment of joy you encounter.
If you haven’t followed this policy before the death of your loved one, honor his death by living fully starting today.
