My husband passed away after a 9 month courageous battle with cancer. Shortly after, I joined Hope for Widows and was immediately drawn to each member’s harrowing journey…our stories that link and bind us together in such a life-altering, fragile; but, profoundly strengthening and therapeutic manner. Writing has been cathartic for me; from doing my internship with a top fashion publication, to sharing about God’s sustaining grace and the bittersweet blessings of my youngest daughter’s severe autism through community and faith-based media. However, I never comprehended that I would be writing about being a widow. As I strive to navigate and embrace this uncharted territory, and not just tolerate it, plus, cultivate the fact that joy is in my disposition not my circumstances; my hope is that you will join me as a friend and grow together as widow warriors.
